Ryedale Dog Rescue Yorkshire Wolds Way Relay Walk

Ryedale Dog Rescue Yorkshire Wolds Way Relay Walk
Have you ever noticed how many former Ryedale Dog Rescue dogs and their new families, not to mention the many followers and supporters,  live close to the Wolds Way? Many will have a favourite section which they walk regularly. Why not raise some funds for RDR while enjoying a couple of hours on your favourite walk?

How can you take part?

Over the next six weeks we hope to complete the Wolds Way as a relay walk. The walk is divided in to twenty sections of between 2 to 7 miles; we hope each section will be walked by at least one participant.
Sections of the walk, listed below, can be “adopted” by walkers for a fee, allowing walkers to self-sponsor, or sponsorship can be collected. If you cannot walk, then you can adopt a section and nominate someone to walk for you, or sponsor walker.
The Route
The Yorkshire Wolds Way is a National Trail; the route is marked on Ordinance Survey Explorer maps and on many road atlases. National Trail Guide Yorkshire Wolds Way by Roger Ratcliffe has been used when planning this fundraiser. On the ground, the route is waymarked with an acorn symbol and many wooden finger posts indicating destination and distance.
For those without a map or guidebook Wolds Way route information is published online by:

Taking Part

The route sections listed below are also available on a
Facebook Group. If you have access to Facebook then please sign up for your chosen section there. Once you have completed your walk, please return to the comments section linked to your original post and upload any stories or photographs you wish to share.
Don’t worry, if you don’t use Facebook you can “adopt” a section of the walk and share stories and photos with me by email at milestowander2@gmail.com .

I hope you will be able to join us in raising funds for Ryedale Dog Rescue.
