Anne Punchard (Crafty Womble)

It is about 5 years since I joined the rescue as a volunteer & at that time, I mainly baked cakes for Coffee Mornings and Dog Shows & also made crafts for stalls. I have over the years got more involved helping at events, keeping Battle Flatts Vets in Norton stocked up with dog beds which they kindly sell for the rescue, help in our Pop Up Shop  and also sorting out donations of goods that so many kind people donate to the rescue.

Of course, since lockdown all our face to face events cannot take place.  As a group we have had to come up with new ways to raise much needed funds.  I have been making and selling flower planters with some donations of plants and pots from Dianne & Jan. These are on the rescue Facebook page and I can be contacted by messenger.  Also dropping off things for Becca’s online shop and some baking for Angela’s stall on the wall!  Recently I have made some face masks for our volunteer team.

The weeks have flown by as I volunteered for Ryedale Covid 19 helpers and through that I am regularly walking a dog for a lady that has to self-isolate and  I joined Ryedale Scrubs & managed to make 18 sets of scrubs which kept me occupied for a quite a while!

I am looking forward to the time when we can commence some events again.

We always welcome new volunteers, so if you have some spare time and like a bit of a laugh why not come and join us.  Take care everyone.
