News Update: June 2020

Meet the Volunteers

Ryedale Dog Rescue is managed and run entirely by volunteers, and without them there would be no RDR. They call themselves  ‘The Wombles’, because they can find a use for everything. Normally they’re out and about collecting items for sale, running shows and other events and carrying out home checks for prospective adopters.

But the last few months have been different: forced indoors by lockdown, The Wombles have been revealing hidden talents and helping to keep RDR running. Click on the RDR Wombles tab in the menu bar to see the diaries of a few of our volunteers. We’ll add more when we can persuade more Wombles to put pen to paper.

Welcome….

Welcome to Ryedale Dog Rescue. We’re a small charity run entirely by volunteers, with the goal of rehoming abandoned and unwanted animals in Ryedale and East Yorkshire.

Please feel free to browse our site, where you’ll find:

  • information about upcoming events
  • details of dogs that need rehoming and information on the adoption process
  • ideas for how you can get involved
  • how to donate to us.

We’re never happier than when one of our dogs is rehomed, and love to hear about your happy endings.

If you have any queries or comments, we’d love to hear from you. You can email us at enquiries@ryedaledogrescue.com

Coronavirus Update

24/03/2020 Hi everyone, I hope you’re all keeping well and safe. Although we can’t get out and about, RDR are still helping Ryedale’s find forever homes for Ryedale’ dogs. Sadly, for the moment we’ll have to put any new home check visits and adoptions on hold, but we’ll be back as soon as we can. in the meantime we’re dreaming up some fun online ways to pass the time and raise some funds. Take care everyone, and watch this space.

23/03/2020  Sadly, due to the current coronavirus crisis RDR has taken the decision to cancel all face-to-face fundraising events for the time being. Instead, will be looking at some fun ways to raise funds virtually, so look out here and on our Facebook page for further details. Take care everyone!
